Muncaster Castle
800-year-old castle still lived in by Pennington family and developed as big all-day, year-round attraction especially during special festivals. Castle and gardens each worth visit in own right. Eskdale Mill
one of oldest water-powered corn mills in England, on banks of Whillan Beck in hamlet of Boot. Miller's tour combines stories of the mill's history and past valley life with artefacts, early photographs, tales of historic tenants of the mill plus demonstration of the milling process.
